 Here are some of the images from a campaign I shot recently for the Home office to highlight the problems of Slavery being used here in the UK right on our doorsteps.

Modern Slavery is a real problem in Britain, in 2013 there was an increase of 47% recorded

These images are here to highlight this . There are many  types of slavery happening here everyday including child trafficking, forced labour, sexual exploitation, and domestic servitude amongst others . Visit this site to learn more . Modernslavery.co.uk so we can all help to put a stop to this .

Wired Magazine Pavel Durov

I recently shot a fascinating story for Wired Magazine about Russian anarcho-capitalist Pavel Durov, Founder of VKontakte. The Russian social media site has over 70 million daily users and has been dubbed the "Russian Facebook". Controversy surrounds Pavel, and I was really intrigued to meet and photograph him. He was recently involved in a stand off with a Russian SWAT team and has been ousted as CEO of his own company by allies of Vladimir Putin, all as a result of him refusing to comply with Putin's demands for information on his colleagues at VKontakte. We decided to shoot outside London's West End Central Police Station, the stark architecture has a really graphic quality which lent itself brilliantly to this shoot. Art Director Steve Peck and I worked together to create a marriage and styling and location to form an emotive feel to the shoot that felt right and which Pavel loved .

AOP Awards

It was a great end to the year picking up 2 AOP awards to go with the 2 Kontinent awards from the States this year. I want to thank Tom Griffiths for all his hard work on the shoot in Iceland, we were out in the stormy gales at night shooting icebergs and trekking over frozen lakes with cracking ice to get our pictures. Great fun but hard work but worth it to get these pictures.

Kontinent - Nature Award 2014

I would like to thank D and D productions, particualy Dave and Denise. Plus a special thanks to Alex Cornes for assisting and organising for me to go down to the Mundesly weekender in Norfolk. Also of course to all our subjects who allowed us to interrupt their evening while they were getting ready for dinner. We invaded their chalets with lights and stands to produce this set of images. 

South Sheilds

I was recently up in Newcastle visiting Kates family , I was really interested to see the old Ship yards and to see if I could get a shot there , so we headed out on  the Metro out to South Shields and walked along the docks

it soon became apparent that things have changed , after a quick visit to a pub it was confirmed , they are no longer there , its now all new Housing developments some good some not by the sound of things , Its such a shame that industries like this that define areas and people should be allowed to die like this ,

We ended up walking the other way and came across another old institution that has died away and been left to ruin , The Tynemouth outdoor swimming pool .In its day it must have been incredible in the summer , lets hope that the regeneration of the area can get places like this up and going again for the communities .

James Hunts F1 World Championship Car

I was lucky enough to go down to Mclaren headquarters and shoot the legendary James Hunts iconic World championship winning car amongst others , a great peice of history made even more famous by the Movie Rush centred around Hunt and Laudas battle to win the 76 F1 title , Eventually Hunt won it after Laudas terrible accident had made him miss part of the season and culminating in Hunt racing this machine round the Mount Fuji circuit in such bad conditions Lauda refused to race . Amazing stuff ... Amazing car ...#fb
